Great-crested Grebe  Podiceps cristatus   2 birds of the coast at Titchwell.

Cormorant  Phalacrocorax carbo   Small numbers seen at coastal locations.

Little Egret  Egretta garzetta   Just a singleton at Titchwell.

Grey Heron  Ardea cinerea   Small numbers encountered.

Mute Swan  Cygnus olor   Birds at Tichwell, Cley & Stiffkey Fen.

Pink-footed Goose  Anser brachyrhynchus   Flock of 16 at Cley.

Greylag Goose  Anser anser   Probably the commonest of all the geese encountered.

Canada Goose  Branta canadensis   Surprisingly small numbers, confined to Titchwell.

Brent Goose  Branta bernicla   Good numbers at all reserves visited.

Shellduck  Tadorna tadorna   Many birds encountered during the trip.

Mallard  Anas platyrhynchos   Very common at all suitable sites.

Gadwall  Anas strepera   Paired birds at all reserves visited.

Pintail  Anas acuta   Only encountered at Titchwell, with 10> present.

Shoveler  Anas clypeata   Good numbers at all suitable sites.

Widgeon  Anas penelope   20> at Tichwell small numbers elsewhere.

Teal  Anas crecca   Birds present at all sites visited.

Garganey  Anas querquedula   2 pairs at Titchwell only.

Pochard  Aythya ferina   Just the odd bird encountered, mainly at Titchwell.

Tufted Duck  Aythya fuligula   Half a dozen birds at Stiffkey Fen.

Eider  Somateria mollissima   2 birds of the beach at Cley.

Common Scoter  Melanitta nigra   Rafts of several hundred off the beach at Cley.

Long-tailed Duck  Clangula hyemalis   A pair close in at the beach at Titchwell.

Goldeneye  Bucephala clangula   A couple of females on the sea at Titchwell.

Marsh Harrier  Circus aeruginosus   Several birds at both Titchwell & Cley.

Kestrel  Falco tinnunculus   Only 2; 1 at Cley and 1 at Stiffkey Fen.

Red-legged Partridge  Alectoris rufa   Several birds on access track to Stiffkey Fen.

Pheasant  Phasianus colchicus   Common at suitable locations.

Moorhen  Gallinula chloropus   Several birds at both Titchwell & Cley.

Coot  Fulica atra   Same status as above.

Common Crane  Grus grus   3 birds flying overhead at Cley east bank car park.

Oystercatcher  Haematopus ostralegus   Common all along the coast.

Avocet  Recurvirostra avosetta   Many birds present at all reserves visited.

Little-ringed Plover  Charadrius dubius   Just 2 birds at Stiffkey Fen.

Ringed Plover  Charadrius hiaticula   Small numbers at both Cley & Titchwell.

Grey Plover  Pluvialis squatarola   Several birds dotted along the beach at Titchwell.

Lapwing  Vanellus vanellus   Very common at Cley and Titchwell odd ones at Stiffkey.

Sanderling  Calidris alba   20> on Titchwell beach.

Turnstone  Arenaria interpres   Small numbers at Titchwell beach.

Dunlin  Calidris alpina   15> on Titchwell beach.

Little Stint  Calidris minuta   Small numbers on the beach at Titchwell.

Redshank  Tringa totanus   Common at all coastal sites visited.

Spotted Redshank  Tringa erythropus   Up to 5 birds present at Titchwell.

Greenshank  Tringa nebularia   A flock of 8 birds at Titchwell beach.

Black-tailed Godwit  Limosa limosa   Good numbers at Titchwell, Cley and Stiffkey.

Curlew  Numenius arquata   Modest numbers at both Titchwell & Cley.

Snipe  Gallinago gallinago   Just a single bird at Cley.

Ruff  Philomachus pugnax   Good numbers of Reeves at Ticthwell with just a couple of Ruff, several birds of both sexes at Cley.

Black-headed Gull  Chroicocephalus ridibundus   The commonest of all the gulls.

Mediterranean Gull  Ichthyaetus melanocephalus   2 birds in the fields by the north bank car-park.

Herring Gull  Larus argentatus   Surprisingly few seen, several on Titchwell beach.

Lesser-B-B Gull  Larus fuscus graellsii   A singleton at Stiffkey Fen the only sighting.

Sandwich Tern  Thalasseus sandvicensis   5 birds at Cley, north bank.

Wood Pigeon  Columba palumbus   Abundant.

Collared Dove  Streptopelia decaocto   Common almost everywhere.

Skylark  Alauda arvensis   Several birds display singing at both Cley & Titchwell.

Sand Martin  Riparia riparia   Several dozen at Titchwell.

Swallow  Hirundo rustica   Odd birds at both Titchwell & Cley.

Water Pipit  Anthus spinoletta   A single bird at Cley.

Rock Pipit  Anthus petrosus   Several birds observed on the shingle banks at Cley.

Meadow Pipit  Anthus pratensis   A couple of birds near the west bank car park Cley.

Pied Wagtail  Motacilla alba yarrellii   Several birds, all males seen during the trip.

Yellow Wagtail  Motacilla flava   1 bird only on the new hide complex at Titchwell.

Wren  Troglodytes troglodytes   Several birds singing at Titchwell.

Dunnock  Prunella modularis   Common at suitable habitats.

Robin  Erithacus rubecula   Abundant.

Wheatear  Oenanthe oenanthe   Both sexes observed at Cley possible 20> birds in total.

Blackbird  Turdus merula   Abundant.       

Chiffchaff  Phylloscopus collybita   Several birds singing at Titchwell with good views.

Great Tit  Parus major   Birds not uncommon in the right habitat.

Blue Tit  Cyanistes caeruleus   Several birds around the feeding station at Titchwell.

Long-tailed Tit  Aegithalos caudatus   A pair at Stiffkey Fen.

Magpie  Pica pica   Common at suitable locations.

Jackdaw  Coloeus monedula   Common around habitation.

Rook  Corvus frugilegus   Not common, with a few pairs at Cley east bank.

Carrion Crow  Corvus corone   Common.

Starling  Sturnus vulgaris   A flock of 50-100 on the saltmarsh at Titchwell.

House Sparrow  Passer domesticus   Common almost everywhere.

Chaffinch  Fringilla coelebs   Commonest of the finches.

Linnet  Carduelis cannabina   Several pairs on the pasture at Cley west bank.

Goldfinch  Carduelis carduelis   Common on the feeders at Titchwell.

Greenfinch  Carduelis chloris   Same status as above.
